Giving and growing during this holiday season!
'Tis the season for giving but don't get caught without taking the time to give to yourself.

We all love the holidays, but by the end of the month of December, we have nothing left to give. All of a sudden we are out of the normal routine and the group of family members that are visiting is growing. If you are experiencing sudden muscle aches, lack of motivation, and sleeplessness you may be experiencing holiday burnout. Here at EllaGrows we believe that a little awareness and mindfulness go a long way. We've come up with some simple ideas to get you back to your happy (sane) place.
Set a routine
"The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine." Mike Murdock
The goal is to normalize your routine as much as possible. Try to get up at the same time daily, exercise even if it's just 10 minutes, take a cool shower and eat breakfast.
Make a list of priorities
"If the chaos is overwhelming, I start making lists. To write it down puts it in perspective."- Renee Lawless
It all happened so fast, divorce, empty nesting, selling my home, moving into an apartment by myself, and let’s not forget a pandemic was on the way. In the midst of all the turmoil, I got a call from some amazing friends who asked me to help with their business. They owned an event venue, and we all thought it would help me keep my mind busy during those hard times.

“We were planning our wedding from out-of-state, and Mayra got us in for a tour with super last-minute notice, helped us design the wedding of our dreams, and made everything come together beautifully! " Bride, Alexis
The majority of their events were weddings and I figured, well just because my marriage didn’t work doesn’t mean I can’t help others with their fairytale weddings. Hearing the stories, seeing couples go through their difficulties in life, and finding love again gave me purpose and healing. It taught me that there is life after trauma or tragedy, it taught me resilience and I am so grateful for the experience.
The wedding industry was brutal and kept me on my toes, it was challenging, fiercely competitive, aggressive, and exhausting and I thrived in that environment. Having to solve problems at a moment’s notice, keeping up with vendors, and dealing with some brides who had unrealistic expectations were just some of the unpredictable variables that came with the territory. I quickly realized that I had a gift for helping people navigate through what they thought were difficult scenarios in their life.
