Hi, I'm Mayra!
Growing up, most of my memories are of my mom helping others, her car was always full of “stuff”. Blankets, canned food, kid’s toys, clothes, you name it she had it. Every time I asked her why she had all that “stuff” in her car she would tell me how at the end of the week she will be dropping that off to people that need it. I couldn’t understand why she cared so much to do that until I began doing it myself.
You see my grandmother passed away when my mom was only 9 years old. From an early age, she learned and understood loss, all she wanted was to help people so they would not have to experience the hardships that she went through.
For as long as I can remember the one thing that gave me true joy was helping others. I think I got that from my mom.
She received joy from helping others, this is why I do what I do, it’s an integral part of who I am, it’s in my DNA and I am thankful and grateful that I got to inherit that from her. I am a former Army soldier, and model, mother of four, who decided at 50 years old that it was time to take her life back. After almost twenty years of marriage, I lost it all. My house, my job, my dignity, family, and friends, but most importantly I had lost myself in the process and did not know how to get ME back.
It all happened so fast, divorce, empty nesting, selling my home, moving into an apartment by myself, and let’s not forget a pandemic was on the way. In the midst of all the turmoil, I got a call from some amazing friends who asked me to help with their business. They owned an event venue, and we all thought it would help me keep my mind busy during those hard times.
You must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s world.
Life is about awareness, identifying your goals and moving forward!
The majority of their events were weddings and I figured, well just because my marriage didn’t work doesn’t mean I can’t help others with their fairytale weddings. Hearing the stories and seeing couples go through their difficulties in life and finding love again gave me purpose and healing. It taught me that there is life after trauma or tragedy, it taught me resilience and I am so grateful for the experience.
I've learned that getting to the next level means you have to pour into yourself. Learn, love, live, serve and you can find peace and purpose in life. EllaGrows came from looking within and wanting to get from where I was to where I wanted to be.
I became fully aware of my passion in life, helping and serving others.

The mission I hope to accomplish with EllaGrows is to get women from where they are to where they want to be.
In less than a year of me working at the venue my friends were able to sell it and the new owners wanted me to stay and continue selling for them. I was good at it but once the weddings were over it left me wanting more. I came to terms that what I enjoyed the most was the problem-solving aspect of the industry. I took delight in knowing that I made a difference in someone’s business and in someone’s life.
I became fully aware of my passion in life, it was helping and serving others. I am known in the community for working and volunteering with different organizations. I am the girl who “knows a guy”. Friends call me when they are looking for something specific, starting a business, want to bounce ideas, get constructive criticism, or just as an excuse to get out of the house. I love my simple life, dancing like a crazy person when no one is watching, different kinds of food, fashion, the beach, art, and laughter. I plan to live my life to the fullest and serve you in any way that I can. I want to make you aware, help you grow and advance forward towards your goals.
